Our consulting services are based largely on our proprietary IT asset management framework, and include:

Planning and Advisory Consulting:
In this role, we act as an external, expert resource to develop, assess and/or validate relevant IT asset management plans, progress, and deliverables etc, and recommend improvements or changes where warranted. We may also act as a project manager for the IT asset management project.

Process / Policy Assessment and Development:
Identify and prioritize in-scope asset lifecycle processes and policies, as relevant to the client's IT asset management objectives, followed by a gap analysis and development of recommended practices.

IT Asset Management Organization, Staffing and Training:
As our clients make a commitment to IT asset management, we assist in defining the IT asset management department mandate, organization and staffing, including development of job descriptions and recruitment. We then provide mentoring and training services to the newly appointed IT Asset Manager, on an as-required basis.

IT Asset Manager Mentoring:
Access to expert consulting services on an advisory basis, as a training vehicle for the IT Asset Manager. The objective of the ITAM mentoring program is to educate and train the IT Asset Manager such that he/she is knowledgeable and largely self-sufficient in ITAM best practices, and can apply those practices to meet the organization's specific objectives. Under the program, the ITAM mentor is available as an advisor in all or certain subset of the IT Asset Manager's regular activities, as a means to transfer specialized knowledge on an accelerated basis; in effect, 'hands on' training.

Contract Assessment and Negotiations:
Review all or a subset of the client’s existing or proposed contract and identify:

  • strengths and weaknesses (structure, terms and conditions, risks, restrictions);
  • costs (amount and type);
  • potential cost savings and other benefits; and
  • recommendations, based on identified leverage and best practices, including a strategy for vendor management and negotiations.

Software Inventory Assessment:
To identify opportunities for cost reduction or avoidance, based on redundant low-value or low-usage software.

IT Asset Repository Selection: To Identify functional, data and integration requirements for a central IT asset repository in which asset inventory, contract, financial and supplier data resides; identify candidate products and assist in evaluation and justification.

IT Asset Repository Implementation:
Initial administrative setup and collection and entry of pertinent IT asset, contract, supplier and financial data, based on a review of existing contract sets: identify application and process integration requirements.

IT Asset Change Management:
Assessment and/or development of change management (IMAC) policies and processes – a critical success factor in ensuring the integrity of the IT asset data on an ongoing basis.
